Got a haircut yesterday for the first time in a ye Got a haircut yesterday for the first time in a year. It’s grown quite a bit in the last 12 months. ✂️

Last June I cut {and donated} everything I had grown out during Covid. But I’m not crazy about short hair, so I’m letting it grow and keeping it this time. Was nice to get rid of those split ends though. 😉

I thought about getting it thinned out {I have in the past} but then I was like, nah. I will embrace the poofiness. 🤣
I am exasperated and rage-filled over what is happ I am exasperated and rage-filled over what is happening with reproductive rights. And horrified thinking about what might be next.

This is not an agree to disagree situation. This is not negotiable. I do not wish to engage with people who cannot take this seriously.

And if you don’t care because you think it doesn’t affect you personally, I assure you it does. You need to care. We all need to care.

My friend and following list may get smaller. I give no fucks.

If you prioritize embryos and fetuses over my daughters’ lives and autonomy, I have zero interest in engaging with you.

Starting a new book today. 🥰 A few weeks ago, Starting a new book today. 🥰

A few weeks ago, I listened to the audiobook summary {twice} because that’s all that was available at the library. 🎧

I had put the audiobook and a physical copy on the hold at the library and was somewhere between 70 and 90 on the list for both for a long time. ⏳

Then when I was ordering school supplies on Amazon I saw that the hardback had randomly gone on sale for less than nine dollars, so I figured why not? 📚

Decided to leave myself on the list for the audiobook, however. I am currently at number {checks notes} 46. 🧐

Also, the cat is ignoring me this morning. 😆

Current read. Enjoying my new-found love of audiob Current read. Enjoying my new-found love of audiobooks, but . . . if I’ve listened to it all the way through {sometimes twice} and really liked it I still find myself wanting to own a physical copy. 🤷🏻‍♀️🧐

Not sure if this is one I’d want to own, but there are definitely others I have on my Amazon list, hoping the universe offers up a random price drop. 😆📚

What social media accounts do you have? Are there What social media accounts do you have? Are there ones you like more than others? 🧐

A few weeks ago, I deleted the Facebook page for my website, my Twitter account, and my Pinterest. 💻

I haven’t really used Pinterest much lately, and honestly the only reason I kept it so long was because my daughter had a few secret boards with her stuff on it. She now just has her own account. 📌

The Facebook page associated with the website was something I had for years. It only had about 1000 followers, but many of them had been around since the beginning more than a decade ago. It was actually kind of weird to let this one go. 😕

I do miss Twitter, a little. I used it mostly because of the writing community there. It was a great way to “meet” other writers and share ideas and get tips. But I also found myself falling down many rabbit holes that simply wasted too much time. 🐥

I plan to keep my personal Facebook page and Instagram. I find that I use those the most anyway. And now that I don’t feel compelled to check the other sites each day, I have actually been getting more writing done. ✏️

I’ve been able to focus more on finishing the second edition of my secular homeschooling book, and think about what I want to write next. I love social media for many reasons, but it was definitely distracting. 📚

Writing friends, have you ditched any of your socials in an effort to make more time for research and writing? ⏰
New human anatomy study! ❤️

Calling this a “coloring book“ is a bit deceiving. It’s 250+ pages and very detailed. 🧐

I originally thought Agent E would be working through this, but I think that Agent J wants to give it a try. Most likely, we’ll end up with two copies. 😉

It looks like a lot of fun, but I’m guessing it will take the entire school year and then some to get through it all. 📚

Agent E is officially registered for her first col Agent E is officially registered for her first college course. It starts next week. ❤️

The class is a one-credit seminar for beginning students that we’ve been jokingly referring to as How To College. 😆

Unfortunately the in-person section she originally signed up for was canceled. So it was either move to online independent study or wait until fall. After some debating, she decided to stick with the plan to begin next week. 😕

So, while not ideal for a first college experience, she’s still excited to get started. 😀

Plan is to register for one {hopefully in-person} three-credit course in the fall {possibly the ubiquitous freshman composition} and if all goes well perhaps two for spring. Next year, maybe more, although we will also still be homeschooling during that time. 🏡

I’m glad she will have this opportunity to ease into college studies. She is definitely more mature than past me preparing to take my first college class. 😐

We had to change our in-person advisor meeting to a Zoom call, because Covid. 😷

At the end of our isolation now, and feeling much better, so we’ll be heading out later this week to pick up the textbook and get an ID card. 📚

Working on a 2nd edition of the secular homeschool Working on a 2nd edition of the secular homeschooling book I published last year. Why a new edition so soon? 🧐

Well . . . I have been spending a lot more time on my writing in the last several months, and I think there are many ways that it can be improved, so I figured why not? 🤷🏻‍♀️

For this update, I made significant changes to the style and tone of the book. The new version is more reader-focused and succinct. The print copy is slightly larger, with improved fonts, spacing, and layout. The overall word count dropped by ~1200 words, definitely for the better. ❤️

I’m very happy with it so far, although editing your own work is always a bit cringe. 😬

Swipe for some potential Kindle cover backgrounds. Available soon in both e-book and paperback. 📚
